Central German Mental Health Center

Central German Mental Health Centre

The Central German Mental Health Center (CMC) unites the Universities of Marburg, Giessen, Frankfurt and Darmstadt, the University Hospital Giessen-Marburg, and DIPF | Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education and IDeA Center, Frankfurt. The goal of the CMC is to improve patients’ care by developing a personalised approach for prognosis, clinical decisions and treatment on the basis of disorder mechanisms and processes.

The CMC faculty are at the forefront of basic and clinical research to address these challenges as documented by more than 50 multicentre research consortia and cohorts (annual funding of € 26 Mio for CMC). This success is based on established, interdisciplinary networks within the CMC. We serve as the major service provider in a catchment area of about 1 Mio inhabitants, treating 33.000 patients annually, and thus provide excellent conditions for patient recruitment and longitudinal cohorts.
